பொங்கல் தினம் தமிழர்களின் திருநாளாக, அறுவடைத் திரு நாளாக கொண்டாடடப்படுகிறது. உழவர்களுக்கும், இயற்கைக்கும் நன்றி சொல்லும் விழாவாக இது கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. இதுகுறித்த ஒரு கவிதை.

Whatever thrown on the earth

Decomposes, expect the seed as mirth

So be grateful towards nature

For focussing our nurture.

The growth of the baby in womb

Stays as an imaginary theme to assume

Unless seen through scan

But the seedling is easily seen.

Always the (mother) here farmer

Places his soul as an armour

Our mother feeds us

But our mother's  are fed by farmers

So always be thankful to farmer

Who sweat & keep our tummy wet forever. 

HAPPY pongal

Pongal is a harvesting festival

Celebrated by the farmers ethically;

The first day: Bhogi

Honouring Lord Indran (rain)

The second day:Thai Pongal

 Honouring Lord Surya (sun)

 The third day: Maatu Pongal Honouring(cow) cattle

And finally the fourth day: Kaanum Pongal

As the word implies visiting relation for blessing. 

Thus, Pongal is empowered with all sakthi 

Until life attains mukthi.
