The Mask We Wear

The mask we wear

Hides the truth behind,

Muffles the emotions we carry.

Its colours change like a chameleon,

Concealing pain with a smile,

Beautifying emotions with an untold story.

The storms within remain concealed,

Vulnerability tested time and again,

Reality left unexposed.

We learn to live with multiple masks forever,

As the crowd teaches us to do.

The wind cannot carry the mask away,

Like an anchored ship amidst the storm.

We cannot live without the mask,

For the love we hold within.
