Beyond the Harbour.. துறைமுகத்திற்கும் அப்பால்

துறைமுகத்தில் நின்றிருக்கும் ஒரு கப்பல் மிகவும் பாதுகாப்பாக இருக்கும். புயலின் சீற்றமும் அதனைத் தாக்காது; பலத்த காற்றும் அதனை அலைக்கழிக்காது. அங்கே அது அமைதியாகவும் நிம்மதியாகவும் இருக்கும்.

இதை வைத்து வே.ஜெயந்தி எழுதியுள்ள கவிதை:

A ship in the harbour

rests calm and still,

Sheltered from storms,

untouched by the wind's will.

Safe is the harbour,

peaceful and bright,

But dreams are not born

by hiding from the fight.

Ships are built to sail,

to cross the endless sea,

To face the mighty waves

with courage wild and free.

Every challenge teaches,

every storm makes us strong;

Each sunrise after darkness

proves we still belong.

So leave your fear behind,

let hope become your guide.

The greatest journeys begin

when we dare to ride the tide.

For a ship is safest in the harbour—

but that is not what ships are built for.
