Dr Radhakrishnan's Birthday is celebrated as teachers day in India. 

In the event of Teachers day teachers are honoured with prestigious award on different categories.

D. Brinda Wins Award in Creativity Category at Puthiya thalaimurai and kanavasiriyar Teacher Awards. On 29th August, Puthiya Thalaimurai TV Channel conducted its Teachers' Day Award function at Vaishnav College.

The function started at 6 p.m. and ended at 9:30 p.m.  around 500 members participated in this function. The program started with Tamizh thai vazhthu. Ten teachers were selected from across Tamil Nadu under ten different categories.

4. innovative practice award for Mr Manohar5.  Rural service award for Mr Narasimman

6.  Girl child education award  for Mrs .Sudha

9.   special education award  for Mr.  Martin Joseph

10 Activity oriented teacher award . Mr. Kannan

Mrs. D. Brinda was selected under the category of Creativity from GHS, Melpattampakkam, Cuddalore District, for the Puthiya Thalaimurai Teacher Award 2026.

Brinda, a teacher who started her journey at Dalhousie Public School, Himachal Pradesh in 1994, has now reached Melpattampakkam Government High School through her teaching experience in the Republic of Maldives. She has represented india in Japan Kumamoto for Tsunami awareness summit.

She stands out from the rest in her teaching methods by conducting seminars, quizzes, and role-plays. She has uploaded 4,000 educational videos from Classes 3 to 10 on her YouTube channel.

She participates in Educational Television and Doordarshan's educational broadcasts. She runs a bimonthly e-magazine  called Creative writers bi monthly e magazine and was also part of a world record event for publishing 150 books in a single day. She also regularly conducts OPEN MIC sessions to enhance the creativity of students.

Brinda felt proud and mentioned about Mt. Kenya international newspaper and was grateful for publishing creative writers articles in the esteemed newspaper.

This was a three-phase selection process. Applications were invited and were scrutinized by eminent members. Reporter team from the TV channel arrived unannounced to verify the teacher's activities. They enquired about the teacher with parents, students, ex-students, and the public in nearby schools and even at the bus stand.

After that, the shortlisted teachers were verified through the Head of the Institution. The next stage was the jury interview, where reputed members interviewed the candidates. The final candidates were selected after many filters.

The selected members had a pre-shoot at their school and house. The team observed the classroom atmosphere and interaction with children.

In the award function, they were honoured by eminent personalities.

The entire hall applauded her stunning achievement. The audience was left awestruck.

All the awardees were given a mesmerizing introduction via audio visual before inviting the awardees to the stage.

They were honoured with a  pen shield and certificate.
