பொங்கல் பண்டிகை வந்தாச்சு.. இயற்கைக்கும், உழவுக்கும், உழவர்களுக்கும், அவர்களுக்கு உதவும் கால்நடைகளுக்கும் நன்றி சொல்லும் தினம் இது.

நமக்கு சோறு போடும் இயற்கைக்கும், அதற்காக பாடுபடும் உழவர்களையும் வணங்கிக் கொண்டாடி நன்றி சொல்வோம். இதுதொடர்பாக எழுதப்பட்ட கவிதை இது.

Pongal, a day of thanking the Sun God bright

Praying for a better future, filled with light

Festival of lovable animals at home, so sweet,

Taken to swim in streams, play with love and fun to meet

Fields are filled with graceful harvests gold,

Workers sing and enjoy, stories untold

All thanked with love and kindness true,

We share love, prayers all together as one, Pongal's vibe flows through
