In twilight's hush, where sacred shadows play,

Amidst the whispers of the ancient sages' sway,

The Marghazi month, a hallowed time, doth arrive,

A period of penance, prayer, and spiritual jive.

The kolam, intricate, a labyrinthine design,

Unfolds its petals, like a mystic, sacred sign,

A symphony of dots, and lines, a dance of devotion's art,

Inviting the divine, to partake in this sacred heart.

The Thiruppavai, a sacred song, doth echo through the land,

A call to the Lord, to awaken, and take His sacred hand,

The maidens, in their innocence, do sing, and pray,

For the blessings, of the divine, in this sacred Marghazi day.

The Thiruvembavai, a hymn, of sacred, mystic might,

Doth pierce the darkness, and bring forth, the light,

The devotees, in fervor, do their spirits bestow,

As they sing, and pray, for the divine, to bestow.

The Thirupali Yezhuchi, a sacred, morning prayer,

Doth awaken, the soul, and banish, the darkness, of despair,

The Lord, in His mercy, doth hear, the prayers, of the heart,

And guideth, the devotee, on the path, of righteousness, and sacred art.

The bhajans, a celestial choir, do echo through the air,

A chorus of love, a paean to the sacred, beyond compare,

The melodies, a sweet, intoxicating nectar, do flow,

As devotees, in fervor, do their spirits bestow.

The fragrance of incense, like a mystic mist, doth rise,

As prayers, like lotus petals, do unfold, and touch the skies,

The temple bells, a symphony, do ring, and echo far,

A call to the divine, to partake in this sacred, mystic scar.

O, Marghazi month, thou art a time, of great import, and might,

A period of spiritual quest, and inner, mystic light,

Thou dost awaken, the soul, from its slumber, dark, and deep,

And guidest it, to the path, of righteousness, and eternal sleep.
